Salt Technique

The dye is first painted onto the silk.
While the dye is still wet,
the salt is sprinkled onto the fabric to create a random pattern.

Table salt, rock salt, and epsom salts can all be used.
The larger the salt crystals, the bigger the pattern.

Once dried, the colours are steamed into the fabric for 2-3 hours.

Hand-washable.  Colourfast.
