Ikat Design

This design is hand-dyed using a twisting technique,
to resemble Ikat weaving.

The silk is first pre-dyed in a solid colour.
Then the scarf is accordion folded lengthways.
Both ends are firmly held while the folds are
twisted to resemble a rope.

The dyes are then painted onto the fabric.
Once dried, the colours are steamed into the fabric for 2-3 hours.

Hand-washable. Colourfast.
